Eight steps to routine maintenance of the excavator diesel engine

Updated: Jun 13, 2019

Most of the excavators today use diesel engines, because diesel engines are significantly better than gasoline engines in terms of economy and power. Especially the torque of diesel engines is relatively large, and it is more suitable for the working needs of excavators. We all know that The excavator needs daily maintenance, and the diesel engine is the heart of the excavator. Its daily maintenance becomes especially important. How should the diesel engine on the excavator be maintained? What are the places that need our attention? What?

1, check the fuel tank oil level. See if the fuel tank's oil storage capacity is sufficient. If it is insufficient, add it as needed. When checking the fuel oil level, check it by the way to see if the fuel tank has oil leakage. This step is still more important, because the leakage of oil is the money. If there is oil leakage, try to solve it in advance.

2. Check the liquid level of the oil to see if the oil level is within the specified range. If the oil is insufficient, add it in time. If the oil is too much or too little, check the engine to see if there is any leak. The place of the oil. This is also very important, because if there is a problem with the oil, then there may be a phenomenon of pulling the cylinder and tiling, which will damage the engine.

3, check the water level of the radiator to see if the water or antifreeze in the radiator is missing. If it is missing, it must be added in time.

If the water level of the radiator is obviously too low, it is necessary to check whether there is any leakage in time. This item cannot be saved. If the leakage will cause the engine to appear “burning dry pot”, then the cylinder and the tile will be pulled. Such as damage to the engine.

Fourth, look at the smoke of diesel engines, whether there is a phenomenon of blue smoke, white smoke, black smoke, monitor the engine for abnormal noise. If the smoke is not normal, the engine has abnormal noise, it must be checked and repaired in time to avoid Affect the progress of the next work.

4. Wiping the diesel engine. This does not seem to be important. In fact, it is also necessary. Because wiping the engine is not only to ensure the cleanness of the diesel engine, but more importantly, it is beneficial to find the engine oil leakage and liquid leakage.

5. When wiping the surface of the diesel engine, it will help us to find some potential problems of the engine, solve these potential problems in advance, and help the engine to reduce the fault and prolong the service life.

6. Look at the dashboard, see if there is a problem with the dashboard, and see if the engine's display on the dashboard is normal.

The instrument panel is an important object for monitoring the machine in daily work. Under normal circumstances, it also shoulders the responsibility of monitoring the engine. Therefore, when checking the instrument panel, we should try our best to be careful.

7. Check whether the connection and fixing parts of the engine are tight. This work is also necessary, because the machine will inevitably generate vibration during operation, and the vibration will make the screws of each connection and fixed part loose.

Once the screw is loose, the lighter causes the machine to run weakly, the body shakes, and the machine components are damaged, which may even cause unnecessary safety accidents. Therefore, this inspection is also very important.

8. Check the oil-water separator to see if it needs to be drained. If the water in the oil-water separator is not drained in time, the injector will often fail, which will affect the service life of the engine.

If the water or impurities in the diesel oil are not filtered, it will cause wear and even strain on the plunger coupler in the injector. Damage to the injector will cause the engine to accelerate or accelerate, or discharge black. Smoke and other faults.
